Koenig Fruit Brandies

Our dry, aromatic fruit brandy is also known as eau-de-vie or "water of life" in French. To put it simply, our final product is pure distilled fruit.  New York Times reporter R.W. Apple describes eau de vie as a "virtual orchard in your glass". There are no added preservatives, colors or flavors. Either estate grown or purchased from local farmers, the fruit is picked at ripest, hand-sorted and gently mashed to begin fermenting. Once the fermented fruit is carefully fermented, it is slowly distilled in our small, copper pot stills. The final step is aging in clear glass carboys for a minimum of two years to preserve the flavor of the fruit. This is certainly not the simplest or the most cost effective way to make our product but the end result is a small selection of award-winning brandies.
